We are very proud to announce that Taylors were finalists (final 3) for the Innovation and Commercialisation award at the 2014 Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards.

Hosted jointly by SSSI and SIBA, in conjunction with the Locate14 Conference, Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards (APSEA) showcase the technical diversity and innovation evident across the spatial industry.

Every year, members of the spatial sciences community make significant contributions that impact across many sectors of society. APSEA is an excellent opportunity to recognise and reward these contributions.  It is also a special night to recognise the achievements and service contributions of professionals within the industry.

Taylors’ Town Planner, from our Queensland office, recently featured in Brisbane’s Northwest News and Courier Mail article ‘Putting the Squeeze on City: Call to Upgrade Local Infrastructure’.

Michael Brinums discusses how he believes upgrading infrastructure in the northwest is the key to making the draft Brisbane City Plan a success.

Taylors town planner Michael Brinums said the plan would be a step forward for Brisbane but the city may struggle to provide enough infrastructure.

“The city plan does incorporate good design principles, which is a big positive,” Mr. Brinums said.

“The downfall is public transport infrastructure is not up to scratch. For me the biggest challenge is managing cars and our transport infrastructure. Councils just don’t have the funds allocated for that sort of stuff.”
