The Tour de East Japan Kashima to Hachinohe 800km ride is a charity experience to commemorate and acknowledge the life-changing effects of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami. Taylors team member Michael Olthof (Senior Design Engineer) has elected to take part in the ride this year as an opportunity to immerse himself in the culture, and Taylors are proud to be supporting him on this memorable journey.

The Grand Prix roared back into Melbourne this March, bigger and better than before with a newly updated Innovation and Technology Hub open for the whole weekend to delight and intrigue race-goers of all ages. Taylors returned once again to the Hub with the intent to challenge the minds of the younger generations and encourage them to interact with a world beyond the physical through virtual reality, 3D scanning, photogrammetry and 3D printing.

As a cutting-edge company leader in the field of virtual reality, Taylors have been working with the Australian Grand Prix Corporation since 2011 to deliver virtual models of the Grand Prix circuit and helping the organisation to make quick decisions around event layout based on the models that are created. Taylors Swifts take on strong competition

The DCE Soccer Tournament returned for its 11th year this February; an annual indoor soccer tournament run to support the Property Industry Foundation and made up of ten teams from metropolitan Melbourne land development consultancies. The competition was set to be fierce with strong teams from previous years returning to get active, network with others and most importantly, raise funds.

The Taylors Swifts returned with fresh new faces and a fierce new game plan, with their eyes on the prize and their hearts in the game. The 2019 squad was made up of:

The 2018 AIS Equinox Exhibitions continued their 2018 run visiting the arts and culture capital of Melbourne earlier this month, and Taylors are proud to have once again been exhibiting the latest technology developments and their benefits to the architecture space.

Designed to connect architects, interior designers and design specifiers in a boutique environment, AIS Equinox offers a relaxed networking night different from larger tradeshows or exhibitions. Taking centre stage in this intimate setting, was the Taylors booth, with VR and new augmented reality developments on show for an enthused audience.

The annual football luncheons are the most anticipated events on the Taylors sporting and social calendars as it gives a chance for directors and clients alike to enjoy a well-deserved afternoon away from the regular working environment and in the midst of the great playing ground, the MCG.

This years UDIA and PCA Footy Lunches were well attended by Taylors delegates and esteemed clients, some of whom had not experienced this opportunity before, but were grateful for the fun day out. As Taylors General Manager of Business Development – and devoted St Kilda supporter –, Sarkis Yelandjian explains, “It’s a good social day where everyone is in a great mood”.

The key to good design, comes from having good foundations and guidelines to follow. Whether it be the design of public spaces, the layout of cities, or the building design of a local neighbourhood, having design guidelines in place ensures safe, liveable spaces. Some of these guidelines stem from common sense, while others are developed from collections of study, but all of these intend to implement a principle without restricting creativity in design.

At Taylors, the Design Guidelines team is autonomous, working behind the spotlight to ensure quality delivery of multiple projects, but they are a crucial complement to multiple teams, as Design Guidelines Manager, Melanie Memery explains.
